CHRISTINE'S COLUMN: Wow. "The Diary of Anne Frank". This sad, heartbreaking, enraging, nail biting story is based on Anne Frank's diary. I'm sure a lot of you have seen this movie already. Set during the war, when the Jewish population was threatened every day, and died by the millions. Two families in hiding toughed it out for 2 years with constant pressure, and always on edge. I, for one, don't know how they did it. This movie was incredibly acted and directed. I thought I would be bored, but I couldn't tear my eyes from the screen. PLEASE give this one a shot. You won't be disappointed. As a matter of fact, I'm giving it FIVE shiny stars. It makes you just sit and think about what these people went through. Such a terrible time. Living in fear the whole time. Not daring to take a breath. I have nothing derogatory to say.

'Safe Haven'
Tonight's review is on a movie called "Safe Haven", starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel. I'm pretty sure most of you saw it in the theaters, and I was a little late, but let me refresh your memories. Young abused lady takes a bus to a small town, trying to forget her past, meets a man, falls in love, past catches up to her, Yadda Yadda Yadda. Bordering on the line of plagiarism (can you say "Sleeping With The Enemy" times 2? This is a sleepy story in a sleepy town with sleepy people and the outcome is as predictable as it is sleepy. Sorry Readers, this one barely kept me awake, I'm giving it two and a half generous stars, and that would be only because the actors did a good job, and the little girl couldn't get any cuter. Until Next Time
'The Raven'
This morning's movie is entitled "The Raven". It stars John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe; Alice Eve as Emily, and short but brilliant list of actors playing very believable characters in this amazing film based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Now I may be slightly biased here because I'm a GREAT big fan of John Cusack, and of E.A. Poe. But this movie is as suspenseful as a thriller can be without anything supernatural, haunted, jumping out and scaring you. I have to admit, I was at the edge of my seat almost the whole time No blood, no gore. Sheer acting abilities. Cusack gives a fantastic performance as Poe, however I was confused by his accent….in the beginning of the movie (set in Baltimore), he had one (English? Irish?)j, by the middle it was American/English? Irish? and by the end he was as American as apple pie and baseball. So that was a bit puzzling. In spite of the fact that he may not have been assigned a dialect coach, he still did well. I'm giving this movie FIVE stars. Please give it a shot! Until Next Time!!
'Choose'
Today I start out with a simple question: WHAT IS IT WITH BLONDES??? Jeez. This movie, "Choose" starring Katheryn Winnick (aforementioned blonde) and Kevin Pollack (as her dad/police captain) trying to find a serial killer before he kills again.I'm not gonna give it away. I CAN tell…..no…….ASK you….. if a serial killer tells you to meet him in a closed down and desolate insane asylum "ALONE", would you go? Of COURSE not! But did the blonde? OF COURSE!! why not? He seemed like a NICE serial killer, after all. (rolling eyes) I rest my case. Kevin Pollack must've had some bills to pay. I was ashamed for him. He can do MUCH better. I have to admit there were one or two moments of "WOW! Didn't see THAT one coming!!" even for me, and I don't startle easily. Good thing this movie was short. Three stars. If you're really bored and looking for something to watch, otherwise, drop it like it's HOT. Thanks for reading! Don't forget to share my blog site! Until Next Time!!
